tiki tiki tiki

The world of Tiki and Polynesian Pop is near and dear to Beguiled by Design’s heart. A longtime aficionado of the exotic and tropical, creative director Stacie Herndon has a deep connection to Tiki and has designed hundreds of printed pieces and websites for the genre. With a wide-range knowledge of Tiki history and its midcentury ties, Beguiled by Design is the perfect designer for enthralling Tiki pieces with an authentic vibe.

TIKI IS HOT.

With new new tiki bars and restaurants popping up, and bars of all walks of life hosting tiki nights or featuring cocktails, the rest of the world is discovering what the formerly underground Tiki community has known for generations: Polynesian Pop is a cheap ticket to paradise. An exotic rum concoction, some Martin Denny or Arthur Lyman on the hi-fi, thatch and carved idols…it’s a beautiful recipe for escape. However, understanding how to design for tiki takes some careful consideration.

TIKI SHOULD BE DONE RIGHT.

As mentioned above, there is a vast and dedicated Tiki community, and they are a tough market with extremely discerning tastes and expectations…not to mention very vocal opinions if it isn’t done correctly. If you are venturing into the business side of Tiki, or even if you want something for a home bar, get an expert. Beguiled by Design gets it. We have created websites and print collateral for the largest Tiki weekend events, Tiki Oasis and The Hukilau, and dozens of other Tiki-inspired ventures. Stacie has also designed glassware. We adore Tiki and we’d love to share this experience and knowledge with you…the right way.

“If you can’t get to paradise, I’ll bring it to you” — Ernest Raymond Beaumont Gantt (Don the Beachcomber)
